What’s new for BLADE, the Task Marketplace
In 2021, we’ve outlined our plan to improve the user experience of the BLADE browser extensions and the Task Marketplace. Our main focus in 2021 is the benefits for token economics and the end user. You can read the full 2021 roadmap here:
For this deliverable from the 2021 roadmap, we’ve welcomed a new member to the team: Liam will be working with Conor and the rest of the development team to streamline and update the BLADE extension and integrate the Task Marketplace. They will also be building a Task Marketplace app, a much requested update for the Task Marketplace. Read the full announcement here:
What’s New & Changing for BLADE
The updated BLADE browser extension will have many exciting new features. There will be no change or interruption to the way users access their BLADE account: You’ll be able to use your existing BLADE account to continue to use BLADE.
Task Marketplace Integration & Dashboard:
The new BLADE browser extension will have everything in one place, by integrating the Task Marketplace into the extension! Users will be able to view available Tasks and complete them right in the extension, making earning ADB easier than ever. The updated browser extension will have a robust new dashboard that will display data from the Task Marketplace and BLADE rewards so you can keep track of everything, all in one place.
What’s new at a glance:
- Users will see all available Tasks that can be completed
- Users will be able to submit entries for Tasks
- Users will see all Tasks they have completed
- Users will see their rewards and a feed of where those rewards came from
- Users will see more accurate information of how they earned their rewards (Tasks and referrals)
What’s new for Chrome vs Firefox:
The new updates will be the same for both Chrome and Firefox, except for the ability to view Task ads in your browser. We heard the community feedback that side-loading BLADE on Chrome was not an ideal solution and it made it difficult to gain referrals. So, while Firefox users will be able to view Task ads in their browsers, Chrome users will not. This allows us to have the extension in the Chrome Web Store for a better user experience.
- Firefox users will be able to see Task ads in the browser
- Chrome users will not be able to see task ads in the browser, but will be able to add the Chrome extension directly from the Chrome Web Store!
What’s New on the Backend
Aside from the exciting new dashboard and integration of the Task Marketplace, the updated BLADE browser extension will be faster and more efficient than ever! The tech has been updated to ensure everything runs quicker, including faster KYC processing, updated reward thresholds, and more!
What’s new at a glance:
- Simplified server architecture to drastically reduce system downtimes
- Streamlined KYC process, to ensure users are verified quicker
- Streamlined Referral process: earn 10% of your referrers completed tasks for life
- Streamlined Rewards
- Updated rewards threshold that will help contain Ethereum gas costs while still getting users paid frequently. 10x rewards balance to gas costs.
When the new updates are launched, all existing reward balances from the previous version of BLADE will be added to the new system. This means that if your current rewards balance has reached our new threshold, you will get your ADB rewards released right away!
What’s Coming in Q2 2021:
We are thrilled to announce that we will be launching a mobile app! The app will be available for both iOS and Android and will have all the functionality of the updated browser extension, covered above. So, just like the browser extension, you will be able to see available Tasks and complete them right in the app!
A mobile app version of BLADE has been an often requested feature and we know this will make it easier for users to earn ADB by completing Tasks on the Task Marketplace. If you’ve been waiting to get your referrals from all your friends on mobile — now’s your chance with the BLADE app for iOS and Android!

- Mobile users will be able to Download our mobile app to complete Tasks and earn rewards!
