What happens when a 4-time Grammy winning music producer and a technical director fresh out of the US intelligence come together to collaborate?

If the question intrigues you, the answer is even more interesting.

RedPen is a social news and storytelling platform powered by blockchain and artificial intelligence. Based in Seattle, the company was founded by Ryan Lewis and Ben Haggerty, the duo otherwise known as Macklemore and Ryan Lewis who delivered hit songs such as Same Love, Can’t Hold Us and Thrift Shop.

After working on Ryan’s vision with a team in Seattle for 2 years, RedPen was seeking a partner who could translate their vision into tech. That’s when they found skilled engineer, tech entrepreneur and former US Intelligence officer RJ Smith. With specialties in data analytics and scaling large engineering teams, RJ was working on a similar effort and became a great addition to RedPen.

Strength In Numbers

Since then RedPen has made great strides and the Adbank team immediately saw opportunities for collaboration. The two companies share a similar path to disruption with publisher partners playing a crucial role in the success of both platforms, which is why we are pleased to announce a new strategic partnership between RedPen and Adbank.

The partnership will focus on approaching larger publishers as a joint offering to bring benefits of the blockchain from two different angles with RedPen increasing discoverability and viewability; and Adbank both increasing monetization and making payment remittance more efficient.

“As fellow blockchain startups, we recognize we have a massive industry adoption problem to solve. It’s our job to come together with partnerships that make it easier and more efficient for new enterprise and government partners to test out blockchain technology. Our vision with this collaboration with RedPen is that we can establish an alliance of complementary companies to offer a suite of services to Adbank’s main enterprise partners: advertisers and publishers.”

A brief introduction to RedPen

RedPen aspires to build and empower the global, connected community by making the world’s information collectively understood. Like taking a red pen to the Internet, it enables everyone to see and contribute to the most transparent, informative, and contextual rendition of content and news.

“A lot of celebrities will act as influencers and co-sign projects for a quick buck. I’m not endorsing RedPen — I’m creating RedPen alongside a powerful team. This is an idea that came from consuming mass media, like everyone else, but also watching my own narrative change from platform to platform in the public eye. I couldn’t be more excited to be working with such talented team members bringing a huge vision to life,” said Ryan Lewis, founder of RedPen and Grammy winning producer.

RedPen has been in development for a few years, but is new to the crypto space. This partnership with Adbank will not only enable adoption, but also help to integrate RedPen into the crypto community with a private token sale in near sight.

“AdBank is a passionate team filled with amazing talent. We are excited about our immediate synergy and focus on attacking similar problems in different but complementary spaces. As RedPen continues on our journey to change the way people read the news and tell stories, we are excited to collaborate with amazing companies and could not be more proud to have AdBank as a partner,” said RJ Smith, CEO and founder of RedPen.
