Free MLB DFS tool to help you gain an edge.

Get stats like this and more in just seconds.

MLB season is upon us and opening day is just a few days away. In the past couple weeks we have worked to compile a nice application that will help you take your DFS game to the next level.

I wrote about Statcast and the search tool a while back and how helpful it can be to dive deeper into batters and how the do vs the opposing pitcher pitch types. The problem was, in order to do this it required a couple sites and several searches to easily view this information. That’s not good!

Our first prototype was actually an excel sheet, which was okay but it lacks scalability so we did the next logical thing… we turned it into a web application.

The app is still very new and in its infancy. We are using MLB Statcast data to run the app so we aren’t able to charge for it but we did bring in a developer to help us bring new features so donations will be how we continue to improve the app.

We have tons of ideas on ways to improve it and are excited to hear from you about features and suggestions you think would be helpful as well. There is a public Trello board you can view to see our roadmap and what’s on the table in terms of features that we’d like to work on.

One of the things we’re most excited about is the addition of wOBA to Statcast soon per Daren Willman.

This will be immediately supported as soon as it’s available on Statcast.

The reason this is important is wOBA + ISO directly correlates to a weighted DFS metric that encompasses how DFS sites score certain events.

This addition allows us to display this by pitch type which isn’t available anywhere else and will be extremely helpful when trying to find DFS plays.

The goal is what used to take you multiple searches and lots of time will now be much more streamlined. If you didn’t use to consider Batter vs Pitch Type, it’s something that should be part of your process and now it’s no longer a pain in the ass to gather the data. We hope to continue to add more features as time goes on to make it even quicker and easier to gain insights to the matchups.
