Ahead of this Sunday’s by-election here in Hong Kong for the four vacated spots on the city’s Legislative Council, we look back on the various comics we’ve done over the past two years documenting the moving goal posts of what’s required of a Legislative Councilor in Hong Kong.

It’s important to look back because, as we are embroiled in the latest outrage, it’s easy to forget that it is simply the latest instance of a larger, systematic effort to marginalize pro-democracy and pro-independence politicians within Hong Kong.

And of course, this makes it more important than ever to show up and vote on Sunday and push back against those who are shamelessly changing the rules on the fly.
