5 Principles That Guide An Intentional Life

Start living on purpose. As I sit down to write this article I’m wondering to myself — how many things have I just let happen to me over the years? How many years did I waste waiting, hoping, dreaming of a better life? ¶ Maybe you’re in the same boat. Most of us live our lives in a reactive manner. Never being proactive or intentional about where we’re actually going and where we want to be. ¶ We make decisions based on outside influencers like money or time.

Its a no brainer if you are in the music industry or if you are fascinated by the industry in general, but here is the single most relevant reason why I subscribe. What element of a society is more reflective of a moment in time or culture — in an urgent and undeniable way? Music, hands down.

Curing Addiction

The more we imagine what a cure looks like the less it seems it would fit into a pill. The more we study it the more that it does. What does a cure for addiction look like? It could be a pill which resets brain tolerance levels and alleviates all symptoms of withdrawal; those individuals would still be at high risk of relapse if their long-term drug abuse caused damage to neurological pathways, a cure would have to repair any brain damage caused by addiction as well. Tolerance and withdrawal aren’t factors though when a person first becomes a drug abuser so a cure has to also address the initial cause of any addiction.

One man’s journey through disordered eating and recovery

For a few different reasons, men are often not comfortable sharing their anxieties surrounding disordered eating, body image issues, etc…. and are far less likely to recognize, and, if they do, seek help or even discuss their issues in this area. ¶ Because of this, I’d like to share my own story. I’ve struggled with weight management, several types of eating disorders, and various other complications with my health that makes my experiences fairly common in at least some regards to many other men. ¶ Everyone knows that one person who can eat endlessly, and in whatever quantity, of whatever food they’d like and never gain an…

My Father the Drunk

My DiaryI’d turned my room upside down looking for my diary. It was my personal diary so of course I was keen to find it. It had a lot of… personal stuff in it. Out of nowhere my father appeared in the doorway, dangling it between his thumb and forefinger like a dirty tissue. “Looking for this?” he said raising a provocative eyebrow. “Yes! What are you doing with it?” “Let’s just say I gave it a rewrite”.
