A German court has denied the parents of a girl who committed suicide, access to her Facebook account. While this sounds ridiculous at first, it is for good reason. This is to protect the personal information of anyone on her friends list. Facebook is, however, working with the parents to get any and all relevant information and data to them.
This is just something to keep in mind. The info you have on FB and any social media site related to other people is protected information and subject to privacy laws and concerns.
Make a plan in case of tragedy. Make sure someone has your login info or a way to get to your online accounts. Don’t put people you love in this kind of a position. Facebook are doing what they can to help, but they still have to, legally, protect others privacy and personal information.
Just something to think about.
