A plugin is a third-party script that extends the functionality of any application.

Two years ago a collaborative, cross-platform based UI design tool with vector graphic editing benefits called Figma released a plugin into their platform.

This plugin is an essential tool for creative designing, not only to customise your experience and enhance your performance and efficiency.

A good idea is of no significance if it cannot be executed and brought into reality.

The following are the plugins that I have used as a designer to increase my work efficiency while using Figma.

Unsplash

The first plugin is Unsplash. Unsplash helps you in inserting beautiful royalty-free images for both personal and commercial projects for free.

Unsplash

The process is very simple.

You just have to search for the desired image on Unsplash and select the image you want to insert. This will download the images directly into your project draft.

Remove BG

Another one of my favourite plugins is Remove BG. As the name suggests Remove BG removes the background of the image automatically with just a single click, reducing the hassle of using other sites or applications.

Remove BG

To use the plugin, you just have to click on the image of which you want the background removed and then click on the Remove BG plugin. And BOOM! You have the picture without the background.

Note: You have to create an account on remove.bg to access this plugin.

(Don’t worry, it’s free!)

Iconify

If you are tired of finding icons for your project, this one is definitely for you.

Iconify imports material-design icons to your Figma document as a vector shape. It has more than 100 icons sets containing over 1,00,000 icons to choose from!

Iconify

You just have to click on the iconify plug-in and search for the desired icon name. After choosing the desired icon, click on the import button, and you will have your desired icon in less than a minute.

Content Reel

Say No! to Lorem Ipsum for random texts. Content Reel leads to design the layout more efficiently. It lets you pull text strings, images and icons from one pallet into your draft.

Content Reel

Select one or more layers in your design and click on the plugin. Choose the desired content and it’s done.

Arc

Want to write texts in a cool way? This plugin is for you. Arc curve your text upwards, downwards or even into a circle.

Arc

You just have to select the text layer then run the Arc plug-in. Now adjust the slider. Click on apply. BINGO!

I hope you find these plugins useful. Which was your favourite plugin? Let me know. Thanks for reading!
