Today the newly formed Premier Lacrosse League announced PLL Assists, the philanthropic initiative of The League. PLL Assists mission is “To harness the power of lacrosse to build more inclusive, empathetic and healthy communities.” The PLL will use the initiative to:

  1. Increase access to the sports of lacrosse
  2. Foster community and relationships with veterans to drive awareness to key issues and
  3. Support those fighting cancer by providing support and working to find a cure.

The League has partnered with seven non-profits in its inaugural season:

“As professional athletes, we’re fortunate to reach millions of lacrosse enthusiasts around the world, and it’s our responsibility to positively impact and encourage change,” said Paul Rabil, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of PLL.

The PLL season will begin in June 2019 with six teams participating in a 14-week season that will conclude with a championship game.
