Oakland A’s players Matt Chapman, Marcus Semien and Stephen Piscotty are spending this week in the community participating in the A’s Week of Giving, designed to benefit families in need during the holiday season.

The week kicked off Monday as Matt Chapman and Marcus Semien spent time at City Hall preparing for the Community Toy Drive. The two were also in attendance at the Almaeda County Community Food Bank Tuesday preparing donations for a second Week of Giving event.

Piscotty joined Chapman and Semien at the Oakland Zoo on Wednesday where they hosted a special holiday party sponsored by the Athletics. The team hosted approximately 180 5th graders who had the opportunity to explore the zoo and participate in other holiday-related activities.

The trio will finish their Week of Giving at a local Salvation Army when they attend another holiday party where they will distribute gifts to families that are living in shelters.
