Drabble: # 126

Word: Endorse

Theme: As stated by Google search

In the United States, and some other allied nations, 11 November was formerly known as Armistice Day. In the United States, it was given its new name, Remembrance Day, in 1954 at the end of the Korean War to honour all veterans.

The first Remembrance Day was conducted in 1919 throughout the Commonwealth and Britain, so it was not originally just an American observation. It commemorated the end of hostilities of the Great War in 1918. It came to symbolise the end of the war and provide an opportunity to remember those who had died.

Prompt Suggestion: Delaney Patterson and Heather Bradford

“You died so young, only 25 years old.”

“Your courage will always be remembered.”

Barbara lowered her head.

Proudly she thought of her grandfather, Charlie.

Her grandmother told her about the gas masks, trenches, dysentery, typhus, and shell shock.
