MrBeast, well-known for his jaw-dropping spectacles and big-budget endeavors, has recently become a sensation in China. Despite the absence of offical access to the platform, bilibili, MrBeast’s uploads have garnered millions of views, sparking curiosity among fans about his formula for success.

In a strategic move, MrBeast joined bilibili this past Tuesday 22nd, introducing himself to the Chinese audience and encouraging subscriptions to his account. To sweeten the deal, he even offered dumplings as a tempting incentive for food lovers.

Known as Jimmy Donladson to his extensive audience of over 230 million YouTube subscribers, MrBeast garnered fast attention in bilibili. With a 90-second video, showcasing some of his most viral clips, accumulated more than 3 million views and over 270,000 likes shortly after being posted. “Thank you for watching my videos, so happy to finally be on bilibili” he wrote in his first video.

Choosing bilibili for his online Chinese start was a strategic decision for Donaldson as the platform shares many similarities with YouTube. Launching accounts on other sites like Douyin, Kuaishou, Weibo and Xiaohongshu is in the teams plans for the upcoming months.

His dedication to reaching the right audience involves substantial investments, running into millions, to produce top-notch content. One of his main goals is to break language barriers: while his content garners close to 200 million views across different languages. By using a dubbing tool that translates content into nearly 40 native languages he’s making content accessible for everyone.

This move follows Donaldson’s recent video posted on Elon Musk’s X, signaling his willingness to explore and experiment with different services. While not entirely unfamiliar in China, where access to platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Instagram is restricted, Donaldson already had a presence in bilibili. Chinese fans had created an account of him last year, sharing some of his videos.

MrBeasts’s team has now taken control of that existing channel account to share new content, including planned collaborations with local Chinese creators, like Rebecca Zamolo to amplify the impact of his presence. This development signifies MrBeasts proactive approach of engaging with the Chinese online community and expanding his global presence.
