Comp How-To: Image Clipping and Cropping

We’ve come up with a few different ways for you to select the best fit and shape for images you’re placing in Comp documents. Here’s how they work.

You’ve been doing this one for years on your desktop apps, but image clipping and cropping is a teensy bit different with a touchscreen.

First off! You can add placeholder images into your document by using the gesture commands (shown below for reference):

Or by dropping placeholders in from the dedicated menu item under the Photo icon on the top toolbar:

Once you’ve added your actual asset, double-clicking on the image will bring up a brief drop-down menu, which allows you to make adjustments as needed for…

Rectangles:

Rounded corners:

And circles:
