When Comp was initially conceived, an individual object could be highlighted with a single tap, revealing handles on the corners that allowed users to move it around — but that wasn’t enough. Users wanted the ability to highlight numerous objects at once and manipulate them as a group; in fact, it was one of the most frequently requested asks we received from folks like you, using the app.

Well: Your feedback really (really!) makes a difference, and your comments really (really!) impact our Comp builds and plans for the app. Here’s how multi-selection was made a reality, and here’s how to do it on your mobile device:

1) Hold and tap

Tap and hold an image or text box with one finger → use another finger to quickly tap any additional image or text boxes to highlight both/all at the same time.

2) Use the menu option

Tap to select an image or text box → tap the “More” sticker that appears as ellipses in the bottom left menu bar → tap Select Multiple → tap any additional image or text boxes to highlight both/all at the same time.

3) Use the lasso gesture

Draw a lasso — basically, a circle with a little loop to finish it off — around all of the image or text boxes you’d like to select.
