Adobe Summit 2019: An Adobe I/O Guide on What Not to Miss for Developers
We’re smack dab in the middle of March, and that means one of Adobe’s biggest events of the year is just around the corner. 16K+ attendees are about to descend on Las Vegas for one of the biggest digital marketing conferences in the world: Adobe Summit 2019.
As in years past, Adobe has an exciting lineup planned with speakers ranging from industry leaders Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft and Atticus Tyson, CIO of Intuit, to actresses Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling, to football player Drew Brees. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
The Adobe I/O team will be there too, and we’ll have some exciting sessions and labs you won’t want to miss. We are looking forward to seeing you there at Summit, too!
Here’s everything you need to make sure you don’t miss any of our activities.
Adobe I/O Sessions
S605 — Extending Adobe’s Solutions with Serverless and Adobe I/O Runtime
Adobe I/O product managers Mihai Corlan and Carmen Sutter will partner with Fred Kuu from the Adobe.com team to show how Adobe I/O Runtime is being used for a variety of use cases, how it is processing Adobe I/O Events to send emails through Adobe Campaign and how the Adobe.com team is using Runtime to build richer Audience segments for Account Based Personalization.
When it comes to extending and building on top of Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe I/O offers unique advantages.
L745 — The FaaSt path to Beautiful Applications
FaaS (Function as a Service) is an emerging technology trend also called Serverless throughout the industry, which refers to the concept of building and running applications that don’t require server management. Adobe I/O Runtime is Adobe’s serverless platform, which allows you to deploy custom code to respond to events and execute functions right in the cloud.
In this lab, Adobe I/O Engineer Dragos Dascalita Haut and Developer Evangelist Sarah Xu will show you what Adobe I/O Runtime and serverless computing are, how to create your own Runtime integration, how to use serverless development in event-driven Experience Cloud use cases, and best practices for serverless development.
L721 — Leverage Adobe I/O to Handle Adobe Experience Cloud Events
L722 — Get Up, Running, and Integrated with Cloud Manager for Experience Manager
Cloud Manager lets Adobe Experience Manager customers easily and safely deploy their application code to managed services environments on their schedule. And using Cloud Manager’s API, you can integrate the deployment process with existing systems, such as integrated pipelines, triggering third-party cache invalidation, and custom notification processes. Justin Edelson, Senior Product Manager for Adobe Experience Manager and Remus Stratulat, Senior Engineering Manager, will walk you through the process of setting up a basic CI/CD pipeline, running the pipeline, and fixing a coding error discovered by Cloud Manager. You’ll then set up a webhook and receive events from Cloud Manager.
L765 — Integrating Adobe Experience Manager with Microsoft Dynamics
Adobe Experience Manager commerce is the hub of authored content, product sales, and marketing. Learn about the possibilities of an Experience Manager commerce integration with Microsoft Dynamics and Adobe’s commerce integration for the cloud platform, provided by Adobe I/O. In this hands-on lab, Andy Lambert and Justin Stanley will show you how to connect Experience Manager and Dynamics through the cloud, leveraging Experience Manager commerce components to surface inventory and provide search, shopping cart, and personalization capabilities.
