International Women’s Day strengthens the search for social, political, and economic conquests that women have been achieving in recent times recently. It’s a time where we must look back at our past achievements and, even more importantly, we have to look forward to the future women generations and to the opportunities that will come to strengthen the female representativeness in different areas.

ADP Brazil Labs had two special days to record this date. On a Friday, March 6, we gathered our women to celebrate this moment with snack time, followed by the release of iWin’s booklet which counted on Juliana Beber’s speech, our HR Senior Manager, who emphasized how important the committees are to our business.

On the following Monday, March 9, at the Lab’s Arena space, we had the Fireside Chat, a video conference with very special guests: Aisha Thomas-Petit, Chief Diversity and Corporate Social Responsibility at ADP, and the Human Resources VP Jay Caldwell, which talked about themes like women’s presence in business, career, diversity, and leadership, and other matters that are tendency in the business and technology world.

Caldwell keeps focused on providing leadership on Human Resources to the organization, building talent strategies to accelerate the design and the implementation of innovative HR business and technologies. He seeks to ensure an efficient HR service delivery and support to engage and retain talent at all levels.

Aisha also started working at ADP in 2013 to help build a technological innovation lab. Through her career, she took seriously the principle that “each person counts”, one of the main values at ADP. She has been an active leader in various internal groups of business and external philanthropic organizations, focused on helping people to achieve their higher potential, especially women, minorities, and people in need.

During the video conference, Aisha and Jay highlighted that the women’s group which is working with technology are still small, but the companies are making progress in this field, changing its politics, internal process, and searching for an ever-larger insertion. One of the ways to include women in technology is the creation of programs that from early on show them, the companies and the business opportunities these companies offer, so women could feel attracted to pursue a career in this area. This way, women will start to connect with companies and technology, resulting in a large qualified talent bank.

Both Aisha and Jay said that they continue working for good female representativeness, but also, for inclusion in general. Aisha told that she won’t stop working in people’s transformation, because she wants to see “different individuals, arm in arm, working together”.

Lastly, Aisha praised the event, emphasizing the importance of having men in the public, and that It’s meaningful for diversity and inclusion comprehension in such a representative date as the international women’s day.

ADP encourages diversity and inclusion among its associates through business resource groups (BRGs). The ADP’s iWin BRG is the largest in the company, it counts with more than 5.000 members (men and women) from 19 countries of all business.
