Alexandria is lucky enough to have an airport just a few minutes down the road — Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA). There are many United Airlines and Southwest Airlines flights into town every day. You may also fly into Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) or Dulles International Airport (IAD), but please note that they are not Metro accessible.
We have a room block set up at the Hotel Monaco, which is right in Old Town. You’ll be 5 miles away from the wedding venue and steps away from many eateries, shops and tourist attractions. Make your reservation here by March 16 to guarantee the lower rate.
Car rental: This can go either way. If you’re flying into DCA, it’s not completely necessary. DCA is right on the Metro line, and there is a free shuttle to and from the Hotel Monaco. Old Town is very walkable, and there is a free trolley to the King Street Metro station. However, if you’re planning to spend time exploring the DMV area, you may need a car because not everything is Metro-accessible. (For example, Mount Vernon.)
