Adrienne and I will hold our wedding ceremony and reception at River Farm in Alexandria, Virginia, the headquarters of the American Horticultural Society.
The farm is made up of 25 acres of gardens and lawns. Its grounds overlook the Potomac river. Those with the wherewithal and solid legs can walk right down to the river through the meadow.
Right now we are thinking of having the ceremony beneath the farm’s 200-year-old Osage-orange. This tree is the oldest of its species in the United States.
The reception will be tented outside with music and dancing in the adjacent ballroom.
