I’m very excited to be giving a talk at this year’s Digital Leaders Innovation Week taking place 14th-18th November. The topic of my talk is how innovation is driving the no-code community, and I’ll be spending time looking at what makes this space different but also how it relates to the wider software development industry.

No-Code (of sorts) has been around for a long time, quietly evolving from tools like Dreamweaver and Front Page that helped us build the web pages of the late 90s through to Wordpress and Youtube transforming the publishing of content.

At a point in time where the demand for code has far outstripped the coders available to code it, no-code has evolved into a new form, delivering robust tools meaning anyone… yes, anyone can build their own software.

“The future of coding is no coding at all.”

Chris Wanstrath, former CEO at GitHub.

Innovation is everywhere in the current, thoroughly branded “No-Code Community”. From the new software tools that enable no-coding, to the “citizen developers” building software at home, from the budding tech entreprenuers making money from nothing, to the corporates building purposeful digital transformation tools in days.

The software industry is on track for a huge shake up, of the level that Spotify and Apply Music have created for the music publishing industry, or Wordpress did in web design, and innovation is the driver of this change on a massive scale.

In my talk we’ll look at what no-code is, what impact it is having right now, and what the future might look like in one of the most innovative spaces in tech. Q&A will be encouraged to develop conversation on this increasingly relevant topic.

You can sign up to join my talk and see all the others on the Innovation Week website.
