If you have always wanted to start an OnlyFans business, here are some things to have in mind.

Note: I use “OnlyFans” as a generic term for whatever platform you launch your adult content business. I am talking about Fansly, Just for Fans, Fanvue, and the rest. Now that you have that in mind, let’s get into it.

1. OnlyFans content creation is a business, treat it as one

OnlyFans adult entertainment is not a passive income channel or a one-and-done business.

You need to show up every day to market yourself.

Learn how to properly price your content, and also get what gets your audience whipping out their dicks and busting a nut to your content, and double down on that.

As I said, it is not a one-done thing, there are a lot of things involved in the business part of launching OnlyFans.

2. Think long term

As with other businesses, it takes time to grow. You cannot just open a Twitter account, upload hot pictures of your fucking and jerking, and expect people to subscribe.

Realize that you are vying for the attention with a thousand other people. Be patient and realize it will take time. For regular creators, it takes years for them to make their first $100 on the internet.

As an adult creator, with the right strategy, because sex sells like crazy, it will take fewer months for you to make your first $100.

Keep it in mind that you’re in it for the long run.

3. Consistency is paramount to your success

The idea with most businesses is to keep on pushing out content, as much as you can, to gather traction, and then you monetize the very hot stuff while still giving out clips of free content.

I have had my fair share of subscribing to some of the hottest content creators on Twitter, and then I unsubscribed. They were not uploading new stuff.

Imagine paying for the same issue of a magazine every month, with no new content. Just the same stuff.

You have to keep posting multiple times a day, everyday, at least at the beginning stages of your business, when you have between 0–10 followers.

4. Feed the beast with content

This ties in with being consistent above. Realize that social media platforms are content beasts. They like to be fed new content as many times as you can, and they reward you with followers.

With Twitter or any other social media platform, posting once a day will not bring in the number of followers you have to find success with OnlyFans.

Post at least 5 times a day, and see your followers grow like crazy.

5. Take it slowly

Adult content creation has its not-very-sexy side. Especially if you are from a very conservative background.

It is okay to start anonymously until you’re comfortable enough to reveal your identity.

Understand that you need to go at your own pace. If you ask me, the people who become really successful are people who work hard and enjoy themselves.

If you do not enjoy showboating, or are in it for the money, take it slowly.

6. You’re the product, so don’t compare yourself with others

Most mistakes creators make are trying to compare themselves to other creators. So they do the same things and show the same acts and do not get the same results.

In this business, you are the product, which means you are unique. You have fans because there is something about you that turns them on.

So, do more of YOU, and less of others.

7. Be prepared. Shit could get real, fast.

Just a heads up, starting an OnlyFans account without revealing your identity doesn’t mean it will stay that way forever.

Prepare for the worst. Take necessary steps to protect your identity. I’ll write an article on how you can stay completely anonymous as an adult content creator.

Sometimes, there are haters, and they are looking for how to reveal the anonymous creator. If they do, at least, you’d be mentally prepared for it.

Takeaway

Did I miss anything? There are many things that come with starting an OnlyFans business, and I’ll do my best to cover everything as time goes on.
