Political Awareness

Build a system that can help citizens of the United States become more politically aware of who they are voting for and what those people stand for.

What: As it stands, our political landscape is complicated, diverse, and scattered. For the average citizen, traversing this landscape is difficult and has become less and less of a priority over the past 50 years. We would like to build a product that would aid in educating the public about politicians, legislation, and how they can get involved. Not only will this product teach the user about these subjects but it will also learn from the user their specific preferences and challenges within the political sphere.
Product Fit Map:

Elevator Pitch: Know about local and national elections effortlessly, a system that helps you become informed on what matters to you.

Value of Cognitive: For hundreds of years humans have been teaching other humans. It is the best and sometimes only way we know how to learn new information or skills. Cognitive would be a huge benefit to our product because it enables the same feeling of learning about politics from a human, without the human. This enables average citizens to learn whenever and wherever they want to.

Boredom in Hospitals

Build a system that can aid hospital patients and those involved in their care combat the boredom and anxiety induced by long hospital visits.

What: Many patients, especially those with illnesses that require long treatments or long hospital stays, often find themselves at the mercy of the medical system. Medical centers can experience long waits for appointments and treatments, followed by long patient stays in order to execute these treatments. Long hospital stays can cause patients in already stressful situations to feel as though they do not have control over their own time which can lead to anxiety. We would create a product that could act as a medical assistant by utilizing AI to provide a personalized interface with which patients and those involved in their care could communicate with to reduce patient stress. Accompanied by carefully designed facilities, this product could act as a helping hand and comfort to all involved by providing activities and updates.

Elevator Pitch: Allowing patients and those involved in their care to thrive through interaction with a comforting interface that provides control and reassurance.

Value of Cognitive: As a cognitive experience, this product would provide the comfort that interaction with humans affords without taxing hospital staff. This smart interface could learn from their patients and adapt to their needs while providing a much needed intelligent helping hand to the patient caretakers. While there are updates provided in existing medical centers, this new system adds a much needed personal touch to what could be one of the most stressful times in a person’s life.
