Every passing minute your favorite influencers, artists, leaders are presenting themselves around the globe. There are many missed opportunities because a human can’t be physically present at two places at a time. Soon one will be able to experience these events in present time. All you need is a virtual reality headset or a hologram projector.

People from all over the world come together during SXSW but many miss the experience because they can’t afford to travel so far, miss work, or are sick. With the advancement of AI one will be able to attend favorite events without having to physically transport somewhere. The revenue and tourism generated from historic cities hosting these events will diminish as people will choose to watch at their own comfort. It would lessen human interaction and connections since people will no longer be confined to the same location. The experience will not be reciprocated as being physically present in an event. For example, viewing your favorite artist perform live without navigating through a crowded area, sweating, and dancing with people from all over the world (in some cases, those are the experiences people desire).

Although it ruins the authenticity of certain events, one will be able to benefit from not missing out ever again.

Since I am a barbecue enthusiast, I’d love to see AI perfecting and delivering the best-smoked meats in the world. I currently work at Franklin Barbecue and the processes and environment our pitmasters have to work with are not the most favorable. Sometimes the pit area gets up to 180°F. Working 10 to 13 hour shifts while constantly sweating the water you intake can take a toll over time if not careful. It is necessary to have a selective pitmaster team in order to guarantee our standards, therefore, long shifts are pivotal since the meats are a lengthy and detailed process. With AI, a pitmaster can establish a system that lessens the arduousness of barbecuing. AI and the pitmaster can work together to keep a constant temperature in the firebox, allowing the meats to never overcook. AI can inform the pitmaster of the airflow, quality, and any necessary adjustments instead of having a pitmaster constantly check at all times of the day. We have the secret touch and AI will only help us deliver the best barbecue in the world at a more efficient and safer way. Despite having a two to five hour line every day for almost the past decade, partnering with AI will only elongate our historic lines for many generations to come.
