The past, present and future of genome engineering

Genomes are fascinating. They connect us, in an unbroken chain of life, to the first beings in existence on this planet. They deliver us insights into both the nature outside and inside of us. Most importantly, the shape us into the unique expressions of existence we are today.

While genomes were entirely shaped by evolution for almost all of time, we are at the verge of jumping ahead of that process entirely with recent advances in genome technologies.

This should make us pause and reflect.

To understand our extraordinary position today, let’s take a look at the past, present and potential future of genome diversity, together.
