Supporting the Next Generation of Asian American Advocates and Leaders
Last week, Asian Americans Advancing Justice — AAJC (Advancing Justice — AAJC) wrapped up its three-month virtual Youth Ambassador Cohort program. This year’s cohort included seventeen students from 13 different states, representing 17 different colleges, universities and high schools from around the country.
Launched in 2023, the Youth Ambassador Cohort program provides students with the opportunity to deep dive into an important issue facing Asian Americans and equip them with the skills to address the issues in their own communities.
The Advancing Justice — AAJC Ambassadors met virtually with staff and guest speakers over the course of the program. This year’s cohort focused on misinformation and disinformation (mis- and disinfo), the impact it has on our communities and our democracy, and best practices to combat its spread. Participants were also able to learn directly from policy and communication professionals, attend a career panel, and work together on presentations to tackle mis- and disinfo in an issue area of their choosing.
Join us in congratulating our second Youth Ambassador Cohort!
