--

In an era marked by persistent challenges to civil rights and social justice, there is an ever-growing imperative to shine a spotlight on the resilient spirit of those leading the charge towards a more equitable future. The 2023 American Courage Awards, proudly presented by Asian Americans Advancing Justice — AAJC, stand as a beacon of hope, capturing the achievements of the Asian American Pacific Islander community and offering a poignant reminder of the power that collective action holds.

Set against the historical backdrop of The National Press Club in Washington, DC, the awards on October 6, 2023, promise to be more than simply a gathering. It’s an event where accolades meet purpose, and awards embody shared values. This annual ceremony is a vivid representation of the principles that our organization is defined by, honoring those who have shown an unwavering commitment to equity, civil rights, and social justice in the Asian American Pacific Islander community.

Year after year, Advancing Justice — AAJC hosts this event as an opportunity to introduce heroes of the community and to impart knowledge to our community. The overarching goal is to ensure that every attendee leaves the event not just inspired, but more enlightened and engaged than when they arrived. It offers insights into the ongoing struggles within the Asian American, Native Hawaiin, and Pacific Islander community, the remarkable progress we’ve made, and the challenging path that lies ahead, urging our continued dedication and efforts.
