Enhance Your Family Travels with BrainPOP

At Bravely, we are always on the lookout for resources that make learning engaging and fun for our kids, especially while traveling.

Enter BrainPOP — an educational platform that’s become a favorite for many of Bravely’s traveling families. If you are doing ANY kind of educational family travel, BrainPOP has a range of videos that could support that journey.

WHAT IS BRAINPOP?

BrainPOP is an educational platform (app and website) designed to make learning interactive and enjoyable for children. On it, kids find animated videos, quizzes, and activities that cover a broad range of topics from science and math to arts and music. It’s for kids and teens from 5–18 years old. It’s a fantastic resource for both parents and kids and one we highly recommend.

USER FRIENDLY FOR KIDS

From the moment you log on, BrainPOP’s user-friendly interface and vibrant animations capture kids attention. The main characters, Tim and Moby (a robot), guide kids through each lesson, making even complex topics accessible and fun.

TRAVELING WITH BRAINPOP

One of the best things about BrainPOP is its portability. When you’re traveling with kids, having an educational resource that’s easily accessible on a device is very handy. BrainPOP’s extensive library of videos can turn any downtime into a learning opportunity.

BRINGING HISTORY TO LIFE

When we visited Istanbul, the BrainPOP video on the Ottoman Empire was a hit. Before exploring the Hagia Sophia, the kids watched the video and learned about its historical significance. It added so much context to our visit, transforming a beautiful building into a rich time of learning its history and the impact on Turkish culture.

INSPIRING STORIES

During our exploration to France, the BrainPOP video about Napoleon Bonaparte provided a captivating introduction to one of history’s most fascinating rulers. Visiting sites around Paris, where Napoleon ruled was became a much more profound experience for the kids because they already knew his story.

SCIENCE ON THE GO

On a recent trip to Costa Rica, we used BrainPOP to learn about ecosystems and biodiversity. Watching the video about Tropical Rainforests before heading out on a nature hike helped the kids understand the importance of the environment we were exploring. They were excited to identify different plants and animals, applying what they had learned in a real-world setting.

ART & CULTURE

Our visit to Italy was enriched by BrainPOP’s video on the Renaissance. As we toured art museums and historic sites in Florence, the kids could connect what they saw with what they had learned from Tim and Moby. It made the art and culture of the Renaissance come alive in a way that was both educational and entertaining.

HOW WE USE BRAINPOP

In our family, BrainPOP has become a staple in our travels. Here’s how we incorporate it:

Travel Prep: Before visiting a new destination, we use BrainPOP to learn about its history, culture, and significance. This preparation makes our trips more engaging and educational.

On-the-Go Learning: Whether we’re on a long flight or waiting in line, BrainPOP is a handy tool to keep the kids occupied and learning. The quizzes and activities reinforce their knowledge in a fun and interactive way.

FINAL THOUGHTS

BrainPOP has become an invaluable resource in our family’s educational toolkit, especially when traveling. It makes learning fun and accessible, keeping kids motivated and engaged no matter where we are.

BrainPOP is definitely worth exploring. Check it out! — Bravely
