The Sea to Sky Gondola has half price tickets after 4:45 on Saturdays so after picking up bubble tea and a tim hortons snack, we drove up for an evening of excitement. The lines at the bottom were kinda long but we were able to skip the last part because we were only two.

I was surprised by how long and high the gondola was. It’s a nice ride up and the lodge at the top is quite impressive. I didn’t expect the lodge to be as high or as far in as it was. At the top we found a wedding in progress and took some pictures of the bridge and groom walking back across the suspension bridge.

Then we went to the patio deck to take some photographs of Howe Sound and Squamish below.

After all the pictures at the lodge, we walked across the bridge to another viewpoint. The bridge was pretty cool but the second viewpoint wasn’t quite as nice as the one at the main lodge.

Continuing onward, we walked some of the short trails at the top. Some of them are very accessible for strollers, which is really nice. Others are pretty rugged for being “easy-intermediate”. We took the easy trail first to the Chief lookout. There’s several viewpoints along the way, some are nice and others are meh. Then we walked the Wonderland Lake loop which was as wonderful as a boggy marsh covered in lily pads can be.

The gondola proved to be a nice place, even if the weather wasn’t the best and a worthwhile evening. We’d like to spend more time hiking up to the higher mountains sometime, so that’s something we’ll have to save for the future.
