10 quick thoughts after my 1st month with the Apple Watch

  1. I’ve always worn a watch so it feels normal on my wrist.
  2. I check my phone a lot less. I would estimate it is around 25%
  3. I worry more about charging my phone than my watch on a daily basis
  4. I can count on my two hand the amount of times I’ve opened an app from the home screen. Half of those were for workouts
  5. “Apps” aren’t useful. “Mini apps” have potential such as the Uber/Postmates experience
  6. It took a couple of weeks before I was able to fine-tune which notifications I wanted on the watch. Users need more education.
  7. Watch Faces needs more customization — This is the most valuable real estate on the screen and more sources should be available aside from the built-in ones
  8. Quick pre-generated text replies are awesome (I hope people don’t notice when I constantly give one word responses)
  9. Loading times are way too slow. useful interactions are ones that take less time than taking out my phone
  10. There are still actions that I don’t know about. Takes awhile to get used to the Force Touch interaction.

It’s very clear that the watch is Version .5 — There is so much room for improvement and I’m excited to see the updates Apple makes
