In today’s article, we’ll look at a review of these headphones that Naenka sent me for review. As I mentioned in the subtitle, this is a headphone without a microphone that uses the bones to transmit sound to the ear instead of direct contact. This was my first experience with this type of headphones.

So I have a unique opportunity to give you my first impressions of these headphones and this type of sound transmission. I used the headphones only with a Bluetooth connection to my phone, which served as the sound source.

Contents of the package

In the package, you’ll find the headphones, the earbuds, the pull strip, the charging/data cable, and I almost forgot the manual. That’s all there is in the package. The headphones are in a box housed in a foam bed, preventing them from moving around in transit.

Shipping

Naenka is based in China but offers free international shipping. In my case, it took eight days from arranging the shipment to the final delivery. Which for delivery from the “other” side of the world is not bad at all.

Everything arrived precisely packaged. The box with the headphones was placed in another one made of thicker cardboard and properly wrapped with adhesive tape so that the box with the headphones themselves was placed so that it could not move in its outer box.

On delivery, I was pleasantly surprised to deposit the parcel at the nearest parcel. This is a service where you can pick up parcels within the Czech Republic at your convenience and are not tied to delivery by the delivery man.

First Impression of Bone Conduction Technology

My first impression needs to be divided into two parts. The first is the encounter with the Bone Conduction technology itself. This was my first-time experience with these headphones when I first wore them.

I found this way of sounding completely unpleasant and unnatural. However, it must be added that I needed to have the volume set correctly. So first and foremost, you need to set the correct volume level and put the headphones on correctly.

My first impression of the headphones

The headphones, as such, feel very light on the head. From the sound expression, I had mixed feelings at first, as I am used to using really good quality closed headphones, so a completely different way of sound transmission than with these headphones.

Therefore, the first few uses were so strange because the sound expression was different, but thanks to the completely open design, you can perceive the sounds of the surroundings.

So I took the headphones with me to the stadium where I sometimes go running to try them out in the environment designed for them and I suddenly understood what I was getting my hands on. These headphones weren’t in the least intended for sitting in your chair at home with them on, putting on your favourite music, and enjoying it there undisturbed by anyone.

These headphones bring a major advantage when you play sports with them, whether it is pool running, cycling or any other supplement you prefer. The crucial advantage they have is that the moment you are walking down the street, for example, you may not benefit from active noise cancellation. Still, you have the absolute certainty of hearing approaching danger.

During my test with running, I appreciated that, unlike the Apple Air Pods Pro, I did not get “stamping” in my ears when running, which is such a disadvantage of running with the Pecan headphones. With these headphones, I could only hear the surroundings and the music I had selected for my playlist.

Design

In terms of the design of the headphones, I imagine an adjustable size. Due to the interconnection part for smaller heads, there is a large space between the “wire” and the head. On the contrary, people with a larger head might have a problem putting the headphones on at all.

The headphone box is a bit misleading as it shows the headphone connection part in red, but it reflects the headphones' colour. In terms of appearance for sports, the headphones are fine. I would not find a use for them at work as I prefer headphones with active noise cancellation.

Conclusion

I have just mentioned the battery in the review. With normal music listening, you get a real 8 hours of endurance, if you don’t listen to music too loudly, then I got close to 10 hours and when I used the headphones only for running, I was somewhere between 6–7 hours of endurance however it should be noted that I always went running for an hour and then turned the headphones off and used them the next day.

In terms of design, the adjustability of the connection piece is the only thing I have to fault the headphones for. The headphones can also be used as an MP3 player. However, I did not get to use this, so I am not including it in my review.

Please let me know if you want to use this in the comments. Finally, I have no choice but to thank Naenka for placing their trust in me and providing me with a sample to write this review for you. I will look forward to any future cooperation.

Final verdict

Would I recommend these headphones further? Absolutely yes, but not for office use or walking on the sidewalk, but as a device directly related to your sporting activities, that’s where these headphones will excel, since as I wrote before, in my opinion, they provide better comfort on the running track than the multiply more expensive Apple Airpods Pro. One surprise at the end, I have negotiated a 15% discount with Naenka for you, my loyal readers “Jakub”, for this product Naenka Runner Pro 2.
