Weather is one of those things that we’re forced to stay informed about. We have to.

It’s how we know what to wear, whether to walk to work or drive, and whether we’re going to run on a treadmill or through the neighborhood. Whether we like it or not, the weather dictates much of what we spend our time doing.

Thankfully, modern technology allows us to see a (usually) fairly accurate weather prediction up to a week or more in advance, and this can all be done in the palm of your hand. Smartphones have had weather apps for almost as long as they’ve existed, and over time, they’ve no doubt improved tremendously.

This is true of Apple’s stock weather app. Like most technology, it has evolved over time, and new features have been added that provide users with more information and a UI that is more intuitive.

However, Apple Weather still has its drawbacks. First, it’s missing the ability to view detailed daily forecasts. This is a huge miss by Apple, as many people rely on the ability to check the specific details of the weather on a given day when planning work, events, trips, etc. And the technology to do this certainly exists — many other weather apps do it — but Apple, for some reason or another, left this feature out.
