Today, I’m going to discuss the threats and opportunities presented by automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, because these will be defining themes of the new decade. Businesses big and small have alleged grand ambitions for AI/ML’s incitement of future growth. At the same time, there’s a raging — perhaps evergreen — debate about whether or not automation will replace human workers. So, to start I’ll discuss the technology and business sides of AI/ML; then, toward the end of this, I’ll invariably shift-gears to address the debate about automation, laborforce displacement, and adaptations thereof…
