Busan Digs

I didn’t give much presence of mind to this trip before I was hurtling along at 547mph over the Pacific. Luckily, sister and mother did. Though it seemed to escape mother’s attention that our first stay would be at a 44th floor apartment in Busan.

Our tower was 1 of 4 seemingly new constructions north of downtown Busan. This setup seemed to be quite common in the city. Sister pointed to a group of apartments and that she’d seen go from ground to sky in the span of the 7 months she’s been here.

We could speculate about the price, but an apartment like this in NYC would easily be in the millions. This one had a massive deck all to itself, as long as you were happy with your upstairs neighbors having a birds-eye view.

We occupied only a wing of the apartment, but given the extravagance of the bathroom and large bedroom, I would guess it was the master suite.

Our host had the bright idea of pushing the two beds together for us to sleep on, and it worked out well enough.

The bathroom had a super-toilet (my words) and was curiously equipped with what a westerner would reason to be a bidet. It being unplugged was not enough of a deterrent to stop me from trying it. And yes, for the curious, I had to try all of the settings.

Butt. The Universal language

Everything was smarthome-esque, with Samsung seeming to be the glue in the system.
