  • New features include modernization of Board layout, increased posts for free users.
  • Community Guidelines to be in line with modern social media; significantly simplified.

iHub is today releasing some of the most significant updates in its 20+ year history to modernize the site’s user interface, discoverability, and bring the community guidelines in line with our goal of offering the premier platform to discuss stocks and options.

The iHub site and app have been around for a long time and has built a long-term, core group of users, moderators, and casual lurkers that are interested in the stock market, crypto, and options. We need to thread the needle between keeping our long-term users active and attracting a new generation to join the conversation.

We’ve spent years using other community sites — not just in the stock space, but general forum and chat sites — and listening to feedback from our users to lay out our plan to enter this new phase for iHub. We’ve broken up our development plan to be three major deliverables over the next few months.

In the first release, here’s what we’re rolling out:

  • Modernization of Board to show the full message (not just the subject line). This will reduce clicks, speed up reading time, and more quickly capture the information you need when reading the latest messages about the stocks and crypto that you’re following.
  • The increase of posts for free users from 15 to 30. Let’s hear what you’ve got to say!
  • A simplified “Quick Post” box that is always quickly accessible when you’re ready to post a new message
  • Changes to our Community Guidelines that will result in freer flowing discussions.
  • Full emoji set for usage in posts. Yes, this took us a while. 🤡

You’ll see all of this live on the site today.

If you haven’t yet, be sure to try out the new ‘Full View’ of Board — just go to any Board and click ‘Full View’ button.

If you’d like to discuss any of these new features and changes, please drop us a note on the Question and Answer board — as always.

We’re in progress with the next big release and we’ll go over all those features very soon. You can typically see some of them in testing, if you know where to look. 🤓
