Scott is joining the AE Ventures as a mentor to help the Starfleet teams excel in their development!
Short introduction: who are you and what do you do at AE Ventures?
I’m Scott and I am multi-disciplined entrepreneur focused on growth. I’ve been supporting technology companies in diverse areas of growth for the past decade. Founded Digitalondon which incubates technology start-ups and supports companies through the core development stages of conceptualization, funding and growth. I came across Ethereum in 2014 through a mentor of mine and previously held a position at protocol project Wanchain as Director of Global Business Development where he managed the sales and business team across EMEA. I’m currently supporting several blockchain projects as an advisor, incl. AE Ventures for their Starfleet accelerator for blockchain projects, as well as managing WeWork FinTech Blockchain Labs in London.
What inspires you to work at AE Ventures?
Helping and supporting early-stage startups!
What is your favorite part of the job?
Learning about the problems startups are working upon and meeting the entrepreneurs who are solving them.
What is your favorite way to wind down? How do you recharge?
To wind down I enjoy listening to a good audiobook.
Where is your favorite place in the world?
A harbor town in Spain called Morira where my Grandparents reside. I’ve been visiting there since I was 1 year old and have many fond memories of summer holidays each year there. Really great seafood and beaches. I was pretty impressed by Phi Phi Island in Thailand also though!
Which individuals, living or dead, would you like to eat dinner with the most?
Napoleon Hill — Author of the books The Law of Success and Think and Grow Rich. He structured the thinking behind having a ‘Mastermind Group’ where you surround yourself with mentors and experts to solve problems, doing so expanding your own tacit knowledge. He interviewed and learned from many successful professionals around the 1930’s and it would be amazing to listen to him now.
Richard Branson would be interesting to have dinner with also as seems like a fun guy entrepreneur.
What is your secret talent?
The ability to connect the dots and see opportunities others cannot.
What superpower would you like to have?
Teleportation to travel to new places in the blink of an eye!
