We are thrilled to announce that an upgrade to aelf v1.2.0 is on schedule and will be carried out on June 7, 2022. Compared to the latest version, aelf v1.2.0 makes changes from five main perspectives: MultiNFT contract, transaction fees exemption, dependencies upgrade, adding BigInt value, and feature upgrade from a set height.
*Once released, all the production nodes will be required to upgrade to the latest version or its mirror version.
MultiNFT Contract
The MultiToken contract, one of aelf’s core contracts, supports the cross-chain interaction of aelf’s isomorphic chains with no further development needed. Based on this MultiToken contract, aelf has built a MultiNFT contract, aka NFT contract, through which anyone can create their own NFT Protocols and mint any NFTs they like. Also, with the help of isomorphic chains cross-chain, all the minted NFTs can be transferred among aelf’s mainchain and sidechains.
Transaction Fees Exemption
After the Token contract is upgraded, any wallet address possessing no less than 1,000 mainnet ELF shall be given a free daily quota of “100 ELF” on transaction fees. That means the transaction fees will not be charged until the total amount exceeds 100 ELF and this right, as well as the calculation, renews every day.
Dependencies Upgrade
- .NET Core 3.1 upgraded to .NET 6.0
- abp 3.2.1 upgraded to abp 5.2.2
Adding BigInt Value
BigInt value can be used in contracts for operations of big integers, making the operation process more secure.
Feature Upgrade from a Set Height
In v1.2.0, newly-added features to aelf chain can be configured via the Configuration contract and set to take effect from a certain block height.
Apart from these new features, v1.2.0 also optimized some other codes and fixed some bugs.
