Advance Notice: aelf v1.3.0 Upgrade

aelf will be upgraded to v1.3.0

We are thrilled to announce that an upgrade to aelf v1.3.0 is on schedule and will be carried out at 18:00 on April 6, 2023 (GMT+8). The upgrade is estimated to happen at block height around 143556163 on the MainChain and 136482060 on the SideChain, and it will be completed before April 15.

Below are the details of this upgrade:

Contract Deployment without Approval

Contracts can be deployed without being approved by the BPs, provided that:

• This contract is not related to aelf’s system contract;
• The contract code implements methods in the ACS12 contract.

MultiToken Contract

The MultiToken contract can be used to create, mint, and transfer NFTs, etc.

Contract Version Check

1. When a contract is deployed for the first time, its version is set as v1.0.0.0 unless otherwise specified.
2. When a contract is upgraded, its version number will be checked, making sure it is higher than the previous version number. Otherwise, the upgrade will not be carried out.

BackupSubsidy Fix

The calculation of governance rewards is fixed.

Once aelf v1.3.0 is released, all the production nodes and full nodes will be required to upgrade to the latest version or its mirror version.
