Advance Notice: aelf v1.6.0 Upgrade
We are thrilled to announce that an upgrade to aelf v1.6.0 is on schedule and will be carried out at 10:00 AM on October 17, 2023 (UTC). The upgrade is estimated to happen at block height around 175663892 on the MainChain and 165829118 on the SideChain, and it is expected to be completed before October 23.
The core objective behind the v1.6.0 upgrade is to elevate the user experience for virtual address owners, making it effortless for them to retrieve related records and simplifying the management of virtual addresses across different chains.
Below are the details of this upgrade:
1. Support virtual address transaction events
Add an overloaded SDK method SendVirtualInline to support automatically firing a LogEvent to log the inline transactions from virtual addresses. The support for virtual address transaction events provides users with a seamless way to access information related to virtual address transactions.

2. Enable deterministic addresses for contract deployment
Add a deterministic contract address derivation mechanism to the Genesis contract to derive contract addresses based on the deployer address and salt provided by the deployer. This mechanism ensures that contracts deployed on both the MainChain and SideChains share a unified address. It simplifies the development process for programmers while relieving users of the need to manage or differentiate addresses across multiple chains.

Once aelf v1.6.0 is released, all the production nodes and full nodes will be required to upgrade to the latest version or its mirror version.
