aelf Contract Upgrade and Parameter Change, December 2023
aelf is thrilled to announce that we just upgraded our smart contract and changed parameter in December 2023. The upgrade is centred on the improvement of user experience, unlocking more possibilities for users to engage with the aelf ecosystem. Here are the key advancements achieved during this process:
- Set and Modification of Token Issuer and Owner
aelf empowers the token issuer with the ability to set and modify the issuer and owner of the token, provided there is no existing owner. It’s worth mentioning that once an owner is designated, the details of the token’s issuer and owner become permanent and unchangeable.
This enhancement significantly improves the flexibility and security of token-related rights management. For instance, as a token issuer, if your token address faces possible threats or vulnerabilities, you have the capability to preemptively replace your current address with a new and more secure one.
- Optimisation of the Transaction Fee Exemption Mechanism
aelf’s user-friendly transaction fee exemption mechanism aims at enhancing accessibility and flexibility for users. Prior to this upgrade, individuals holding 10 ELF or more are eligible for a daily exemption of 1 ELF worth of transaction fees. Now, the scope has expanded to include USDT, with the threshold set at 5 USDT.
It’s important to highlight that users can benefit from the exemption for holding either ELF or USDT, and the benefit will accumulate if they hold both. For instance, if a user holds more than 10 ELF and 5 USDT concurrently, the exemption is 2 ELF per day. This design enables a broad user base to engage with aelf while incurring minimal costs, thereby maximising the benefits that users can derive from the network.
