aelf’s Mainnet token swap portal will be open for another 3 months
In response to aelf community’s request, aelf decides to keep running aelf’s swap portal for another 3 months until June 9, 2023. Users can transfer ELF tokens from other networks to aelf Mainnet via this portal. If you don’t know how to do it, please follow this tutorial.
Currently, there are 4 types of ELF tokens: ERC-20, BEP-20, BEP-2, and Mainnet ELF. With this swap portal, you can manually swap the former 3 to Mainnet ELF, and this is a one-way swap only, meaning once you swap your non-Mainnet ELF tokens to Mainnet ELF, you can not swap back.
If you hold ELF tokens in any of the following exchanges, you can withdraw Mainnet ELF without manually doing it via the portal yourself: Binance, Bithumb, Upbit, Huobi Global, OKX, and Gate.io. It’s worth noting that with Binance, withdrawal and deposit are supported in all 4 types of ELF.
Mainnet ELF is a vital component of aelf network and ecosystem and only Mainnet ELF can be used in these scenarios:
- Staking&Voting: Mainnet ELF holders can stake and vote for candidate nodes to participate in aelf’s governance. All the parties engaged in governance can receive rewards in ELF. Rewards allocation details can be found here.
- Paying transaction fees: Mainnet ELF is used to pay transaction fees and SideChain index fees.
- Purchasing resource tokens: Developers need to use resource tokens in order to deploy and keep running their projects on aelf. Depending on their own needs, developers can choose among the 8 types of resource tokens for their usage, and purchase the tokens with Mainnet ELF. ELF is also used to pay method fees for calling smart contracts.
