aelf Leads the SA Vote for IEEE P3207 Digital Asset Draft International Standard (DIS)

On June 1, 2022, the IEEE P3207 Digital Asset DIS, drafted by aelf, was officially approved for voting. The vote is of great importance in the process of the entire standard formulation. And it invites the reviewing global experts. According to the IEEE Standards Association process, all the IEEE members can preview the DIS and make suggestions from June 1st.

The IEEE P3207 Digital Asset DIS was compiled by the P3207 working group, led by member units including Wanxiang Blockchain, HuoChain Technology, the Tsinghua University, the Tianjin University, the Zhejiang University, Hyperchain Technology, Shandong Computing Center, CZ Bank, Changhong, and many more. The drafting unit has gathered international experts in various fields such as the blockchain industry, scientific research, testing, finance, and standardization. The P3207 working group is fully supported by the IEEE Computer Society Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Standards Committee. Experts such as Liangdi Wang — Director of IEEE SA China Strategic Cooperation, and Meng Zhao — Project Manager of IEEE Standards Association, have provided business guidance.

The “Standard for Blockchain-based Digital Asset Identification”, regulated by P3207, defines the data structures, types, fields, and formats that are related to the classification and identification of digital assets. The standard helps improve the efficiency of digital asset management. In addition, it offers a solution by proposing a standardized classification in accordance with practical guidelines.

The establishing of a Standard for Blockchain-based Digital Asset Identification improves the emerging digital asset management system. It offers references for data format, data structure, standardized operational process, the definitions of common terms, and many more. In other words, the Standard helped the development of the system.

The establishment and development of industrial standards provide strong support for information security, transparency, and decentralization; which found the Web3.0 era. aelf will continue to lead contribute to the formulation of international standards in the IEEE group.
