Welcome to the 9th episode of aelf Monthly Digest (March 2023). This report provides an overview of aelf’s development progress including tech and product updates, growth of the ecosystem, and events in the past month.
In March, aelf upgraded the explorer and extended the running of the Mainnet swap portal. In terms of the ecosystem, a CA wallet with DID solution named Portkey has completed its deployment on the Testnet.
Technology:
aelf Explorer Upgrade
aelf explorer was upgraded to v1.2.6. The latest version mainly improved some display designs on pages like txns detail, and optimized the display of token prices.
Ecosystem:
A CA wallet with DID solution, Portkey, has been deployed onto aelf Testnet. As the first CA wallet in aelf ecosystem, Portkey is a great way for all Web2 users to enter the world of Web3.
Below is a brief introduction to the project:
Portkey is the first CA wallet with DID solution, migrating Web2 users and developers into Web3. With it, crypto users can store and manage their digital assets, including NFTs. Users can swiftly log into Portkey via their Web2 social info with no private keys or mnemonics required. Underpinned by the social recovery and decentralized verifier design, Portkey safeguards users’ assets from centralized control and theft. It also generates nearly zero fees for account creation and user usage, powered by its delegation mechanism. Upholding the core of Web3, Portkey manifests true decentralization and absolute security.
In the future, Portkey will provide crypto on/off-ramp services, allowing users to exchange fiat with crypto freely. Once compatibility with multiple chains is realized, Portkey can enable seamless connection to all kinds of DApps.

aelf Extends its Mainnet Token Swap to June 9, 2023
aelf’s token swap portal enables users to transfer ELF tokens from other networks to aelf Mainnet. Currently, aelf has extended the running of this site till June 9, 2023, and token holders can swap ERC-20 or BEP-20 ELF tokens for Mainnet ELF at a 1:1 rate.
aelf is a high-performance blockchain designed to support the development of Web3 and its explosion in the next 5 to 10 years. As a layer-1 network, aelf has incomparable processing speed which is even faster than most of the layer-2 projects. Built on cloud computing, aelf has a distributed network of nodes on various cloud data centers. Multiple tools like browser extensions, aelf blockchain explorer, wallet App, and SDKs have been built and open-sourced so that developers can easily build and contribute to aelf ecosystem.
With two hackathons successfully hosted and more stunning projects deployed onto the network, aelf is ready and well-equipped for the upcoming explosion. With the ambition set to drive the development of Web3 and promote the adoption of blockchain technology, aelf shall sustain long-term growth by consolidating the existing ecosystem and adding more interesting features at the same time. Expansion of aelf ecosystem is underway.
