The year 2020 is coming to an end. In this ‘Magical’ year, although the coronavirus swept across the world, it did not affect the development of the blockchain industry. Public chains and their ecosystems have made great breakthroughs. Moreover, China’s favorable policies for the blockchain industry are also emerging. With a booming market and favorable policies, aelf has also made great strides this year. Now let’s take stock of the aelf’s achievements in China in 2020.

January 2020

Cooperation with Deqing County Government of Zhejiang Province

We have actively responded to the Poverty Alleviation Policies of the Chinese government and promoted the application of blockchain technology in poverty alleviation and social welfare. We have also signed a partnership agreement with the Deqing County Government of Zhejiang Province to explore the combination of blockchain and government affairs. We use blockchain technology to give the government a new competitive edge so that blockchain technology can become an effective tool for improving the efficiency of government affairs.

aelf Received “Most Technologically Innovative System” Award in 2020

On January 6, 2020, the 2019 annual list, themed “Tribute to Innovation”, was co-sponsored by Guowei Finance, Northern Capital, Horman Capital, and LORE Capital. aelf won the “Most Technologically Innovative System” Award. The award aims to recognize the contributions of a new economy, innovation, and the digital economy in 2019. The judging panel consisted of authoritative experts in multiple fields, they comprehensively evaluated from multiple aspects such as corporate influence, professionalism, reputation, and industry contribution.

aelf established a collaborative blockchain technology laboratory with Tianjin University to effectively promote the deep integration of the blockchain industry, university, and research

Since the establishment of the collaborative blockchain laboratory, with the concept of integrating resources and complementing advantages, based on voluntary fairness, resource sharing, mutual benefit, and common development, it has established a comprehensive R&D development model and has carried out comprehensive and in-depth research on the application of blockchain technology in many fields, such as the Internet of things, supply chain management, finance, medical industry, information security, smart government, etc.

aelf was elected member of the IEEE C/BDL (IEEE Computer Society Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Standards Committee)

On March 10, 2020, Ma Haobo, founder and CEO of aelf, was invited to attend the meeting of the IEEE Computer Society Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Standards Committee and was elected member of the first executive committee. We aim to promote the development and establishment of an industry technical standard system covering basic standards, application standards, asset standards, technical standards, and service standards by deeply participating in the affairs of IEEE C/BDL. We would also like to help the standardized and sustainable development of blockchain technology and application practice, promote the deep integration of blockchain technology and traditional industries, and inject new impetus into economic and social innovation and development.

The aelf team conducted a field study in Deqing County and participated in the symposium

As one of the first companies to sign the agreement of “building a blockchain town together” with the Deqing County Government, we were invited to visit Deqing County for field research and participated in the symposium. In Deqing County, we visited Deqing Smart ECO-City, Deqing Data-Smart Application Center, Deqing Geographic Information Science, and Technology Museum, and other places to deeply understand the progress and achievements of Deqing County in blockchain application, digital platform, geographic information industry, and Smart ECO-City. Besides, we will explore the implementation scenario and practice of blockchain with Deqing County.

aelf attended the Conference of “Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology Reference Architecture”

China Institute of Electronic Technology Standardization organized an online conference on the preparation of the national standard “information technology blockchain and distributed accounting technology reference architecture” in Beijing. We attended the conference as a member unit to further revise and improve the standard. This meeting mainly went through the draft standard of the reference architecture, and the participants discussed and revised the key issues in the draft.

The IEEE P3207 International Standard for digital asset identification, which is chaired by Ma Haobo, founder and CEO of aelf, has entered the start-up stage

The kick-off meeting of IEEE C / BDL P3200 Series Standards was successfully held in Hangzhou. The P3207 Standard for Blockchain-based Digital Asset Identification has officially entered the launch stage, which is formulated by Ma Haobo, founder and CEO of aelf, as chairman of the working group, and Shanghai Wanxiang Blockchain, as the Secretariat.

Aelf team meets with representatives of Investment Promotion Bureau of Moganshan High-Tech Zone

Xu Lei, director of Investment Promotion of Moganshan High-Tech Zone, and Chen Jiabin, deputy director of the zone, met with aelf on the spot. Ma Haobo, founder and CEO of aelf, had in-depth business exchanges and cooperation discussions with the two leaders. The aelf team introduced the overall product introduction, the application solutions for Deqing, and our exploration and breakthrough in building the industrial ecosystem of blockchain. Representatives fully recognized aelf’s achievements in actively promoting new infrastructure, blockchain construction and development, and the application of empowering the digital economy.

Ma Haobo, founder and CEO of aelf, won “Blockchain 60 People” 2020 China Blockchain Innovation Award

The “Blockchain 60 People” 2020 list of China’s blockchain innovation figures were announced at the Third National College AI Big Data Blockchain Education and Teaching Innovation Forum in Beijing. More than 30 representatives from different fields of the blockchain industry attended the award ceremony. Ma Haobo, founder and CEO of aelf and deputy director of the Collaborative Blockchain Technology Laboratory, won the “Blockchain 60 People” 2020 China Blockchain Innovation Award.

November 10, 2020

aelf leads the Second Meeting of IEEE P3207 Working Group and Huochain Technology was elected Vice-Chairman!

On November 10, 2020, the IEEE P3207 Standard for Blockchain-based Digital Asset Identification Framework Working Group held the second working group meeting online. As the chairman of the P3207 Group, Ma Haobo, founder and CEO of aelf, took the lead to participate in the meeting, aiming to continue promoting the development of digital asset identification. Other participants included China Electronics Standardization Institute, Wanxiang Blockchain, Huochain Technology, Binance Research Institute, Tianjin University, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou Qulian Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai OnChain Information Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Gongyilian Technology Co., Ltd., Okcoin Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Beijing Chain Tower Technology Co., Ltd., and Beijing Blockbeats Technology.

Ma Haobo, founder and CEO of aelf, attended the 2020 CCF China Blockchain Technology Conference

Ma Haobo, founder and CEO of aelf, was invited to attend the 2020 CCF Conference themed on “the future of innovation chain in a new era”. He also had a discussion on the live panel with Li Ming, director of the Blockchain Research Office of the China Electronic Technology Standardization Institute, Hao Yukun, senior director of Shanghai Wanxiang Blockchain Co., and Zhang Xiaojun, chief strategy officer of Huawei Blockchain.

Looking back on 2020, with its solid technological development and favorable policies in China, aelf achieved several milestones, including launching the mainnet, and major breakthroughs in the public chain application scenarios and rapid iteration. Moreover, aelf actively cooperated with enterprises in the industry to promote the formulation of international standards and improve the ecosystem of the industry.

The Chinese government’s emphasis on blockchain technology and the increasing demand for blockchain technology from various industries indicates that the time for a public chain has come. Unlike BTC and ETH, the public chain pays more attention to the implementation. With a favorable environment, aelf will also be able to meet the needs of implementation by improving its own tech strength. aelf will continue to build a developer-friendly environment for the industry with huge resources and ecosystem potential.
