The Review of aelf Highlighted Moments in 2021
Quick regard at 2021, from DeFi to Gamefi, from NFT to the Metaverse, from DAO to Web 3.0, we lived the prime of the crypto world.
Accompanied by the growing global market, aelf also achieved many breakthroughs in 2021, ecological construction, product innovation, brand upgrade, and many more. We set up the new tracks for the contribution to the blockchain industry. In the following article, we will look back chronologically to aelf highlights in 2021, summarizing the past and envisaging the bright prospect.
Retrospective Timeline of aelf 2021 Highlight Moments
From February 3 to March 5, 2021, aelf held a mainnet discovery event, which attracted the active participation of global community users and triggered lively discussion in communities. In the course of this activity, assorted comments, suggestions, and feedback are directed to us, which is essential for the subsequent mainnet token swap as well as the stability and security of aelf mainnet operation.
On March 10, 2021, aelf deployed the independent-developed innovative Centralized Asset Management and On-Chain Security Solution (CAM) to the mainnet, guaranteeing a safe and transparent crypto trading environment for aelf users.
From April 28 to April 30, 2021, Haobo Ma, aelf founder&CEO and the chairman of the IEEE P3207 team, presided at the 3rd IEEE P3207 conference. The conference adopted the new-edition draft standard, and further ameliorated the normalized digital asset management methods and data structure.
From April 2 to April 16, 2021, aelf R&D team completed the design and development of the aelf Oracle. aelf Oracle can help users get data from many oracle nodes and data resources. It deploys the data automatic aggregation mechanism. Once done, the aggregated data will call back the user contract as agreed by the user after the verification is passed. With this mechanism, aelf can support off-chain data and notary signatures to be submitted to Etherum at one time, so that multiple times of transaction fees could be saved.
From April 17 to April 30, 2021, aelf technical team tested aelf Oracle mechanism and the Oracle node; the front-end design was also completed at that time.
From May 1 to May 14, 2021, the aelf team tested the core functions of aelf Oracle, including the aelf mainnet Oracle mechanism, the Ethereum off-chain aggregation function, the Oracle node reputation system, the Oracle autonomy system, and the customized off-chain aggregation content with the corresponding economic and governance system. aelf Oracle serves as the backbone of aelf cross-chain function and the Layer 2 strategy while contributing to the development of aelf on-chain ecology.
From May 15 to May 28, 2021, the Oracle platform was deployed on aelf TestNet. Meanwhile, the preliminary design of cross-chain transfer based on the oracle platform between aelf and Ethereum, aelf and BSC have been completed, which was later used for the token swap from ERC20 ELF to mainnet ELF and BEP20 ELF to mainnet ELF.
On May 21, 2021, aelf Enterprise 1.0.0 passed the blockchain system performance test of China Electronics Technology Standardization Institute, with the TPS approaching 35,000 on a single sidechain. It has become the first underlying public chain that obtains the triple certifications in its function, performance, and reliability from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
From May 29 to June 11, 2021, aelf technical team developed the scalable and distributed parallel execution function, intending to further improve the performance of the aelf mainnet and ensure a better user experience. aelf technical team realized the aelf parallel computing logic predicated on the Orleans framework, and completed the test version of the local cluster.
From June 26 to July 9, 2021, aelf technical team completed the development and test on the mainnet token swap contract as well as the upgrade on aelf wallet app. The two actions aim to provide users with a safe, convenient, and efficient mainnet token swap experience. Meanwhile, aelf technical team continuously engaged in improving the function of the aelf parallel computing framework in its cluster parallel computing capacity.
From July 10 to July 23, 2021, aelf focused on the preparation work for the mainnet token swap. The team has completed synchronous transactions in aelf wallet, synchronous balance, and API interface reconstruction in this period. All the work procures users a smooth and safe mainnet swap experience.
On August 26, 2021, Trail of Bits, an industrial-leading security audit institution in the US, completed its audition on aelf mainnet, securing the stable operation of aelf mainnet and the upcoming mainnet swap.
On August 31, 2021, aelf released its V1.1.0. The version upgrade focused on the improvements of the underlying blockchain system, including node-access control and the incentive mechanism for nodes and voters. The upgrade safeguarded the stability and security of aelf mainnet.
On September 9, 2021, aelf started the mainnet token swap. During the mainnet swap event, users could map their ERC20 ELF token to the mainnet ELF at a 1:1 ratio. aelf reached another milestone in terms of its ecological development. The mainnet swap was also strongly supported by many exchanges, including OKEx, Huobi Global, Gate.io, Upbit, Bithumb, and many more. Together we provided a safe, convenient, and efficient token swap experience to aelf global users.
On September 10, 2021, aelf acquired the ownership of aelf.com address for millions of dollars. Meanwhile, aelf announced a brand upgrade in the industrial structure, brand positioning, and ecological layout. From here, aelf evolved to an all-scenario penetrating ecosystem equipped with aelf blockchain, aelf Oracle, and various Defi protocols.
On October 12, 2021, aelf officially initiated the node election while providing technical support to global candidates. By now, aelf has invited 17 production nodes, including the world’s leading trading platforms represented by Huobi and OKex Pool, as well as other aelf strategic partners, such as FBG, Timestamp_Guardian, RockX, bountyblok; and the community representative aelfie. In the Governance/Vote session, the community has cumulative voted 30,911,944 tickets.
On November 5, 2021, the mainnet token swap channel from BEP20 to aelf mainnet opened, catering to the needs of global communities and reducing transaction fees.
On November 22, 2021, aelf started its metaverse hackathon — Top of OASIS — co-organized with DoraHack, one of the world’s top developer communities. Multiple tracks have been set up in the hackathon, such as GameFi, DeFi, NFT, DAO, and Web3. There is also a prize pool with up to $680,000, set to encourage more innovative projects. aelf has also invited professional judges from FBG, BITMAIN, Microsoft, Tencent, RockX, Cypher9 Ventures, bountyblok to incubate quality DApps.
On December 12, 2021, aelf officially launched the Top of Oasis hackathon, with a $500,000 GameFi seed fund and a $100,000-worth Quadratic Prize Pool, aiming to support quality projects and build a thriving aelf ecosystem. With the advance of the competition schedule, we have seen many creative and potential entries, including 3A-level blockchain ARPG game Saint Zone, immersive P2E game Materverse VR and so on.
The Node Election and the Projects Incubation
Four milestones were achieved in 2021, mainnet launch, mainnet token swap, node election, and a hackathon. Each one of them contributes significantly to the aelf ecosystem construction. aelf has the full complement of production nodes for 2021, further enabling the stable and efficient operation of aelf mainnet. The metaverse hackathon also facilitates the aelf ecology development, in which only quality projects can stand out to jointly build a prosperous ecology.
Glancing in retrospect at 2021, aelf achieved breakthroughs and comprehensive growth in many dimensions, ecological construction, product innovation, and brand upgrade. All of these setup of new tracks and contributions to the blockchain industry.
