April 1st, 2022 Aephia Industries, the Star Atlas guild that is set to become the leading ship manufacturer in the metaverse, today announced it has entered into a one-sided agreement to acquire a majority stake in indie blockchain game developer ATMTA, Inc. — or Automata — best known as the creators of the upcoming, triple-A metaverse game STAR ATLAS.

This strategic investment is in line with Aephia Industries’ ambition to play a greater role in the creative processes that are going to shape the metaverse over the next couple of years. ATMTA, Inc. will continue to act as an independently run company under the umbrella of Aephia Industries. Its management will remain the same and will continue to direct its focus to Star Atlas.

Aephia Industries is a dedicated Star Atlas guild (DAC). As such, our success greatly depends on their success. Simply put, we need this project to do really, really well. So, if you think about it, this move just really makes a ton of sense.

We absolutely believe the potential of Star Atlas is off the charts, no other project can compare! But it never hurts to be more directly involved. So, in order to reduce our risk profile we reached out to Michael and his team, and in no time managed to solidify a deal that is a win-win for both parties involved.

Having a seat at the table where Danny and Chypto cook up the next great gameplay to be implemented into Star Atlas is like a dream come true!

Who cares how we got there in the end, right?

AUTOMATA presents Star Atlas

Founded in mid-2021, close to the conclusion of the Rebirth Campaign, Aephia Industries became the first enterprise within Star Atlas that constructed its foundation directly upon the core financial pillars described in the Star Atlas White Paper. While patiently awaiting the further development of this game, they have focused on giving back to the community by helping newcomers on the Star Atlas discord, in addition to launching the wiki and an online tool to get the best deals on the Galactic Marketplace.

When I sent our proposal to Automata this morning, they accepted within 10 minutes! It’s crazy, I guess they were just awestruck by how much this makes sense! They did not even bother to haggle. I asked them if they were open to this and their reply just screamed enthusiasm with only two words: “Yeah right!”

AUTOMATA — Join the Future trailer (Star Atlas)

Founded in 2020, Singapore-based ATMTA, Inc. is the lead developer of the space-based, grand strategy game, STAR ATLAS, which made history last year for being the second company ever to raise hundreds of millions of dollars through the sale of digital space ships, on the promise these would be followed by a game wherein they could be utilized. The key differentiator with the other project is that their ships can actually legally be sold on any Solana NFT marketplace, and most importantly: people can already stake them and earn ATLAS (the game’s cryptocurrency) while awaiting further game modules to be released over time! The first few of which will launch later this year!

Michael Wagner, the CEO of ATMTA, Inc., did not respond to a request for comment, but people close to him stated he expects the deal to close in about 4–6 weeks.

Aephia Industries officially launched July 13th, 2021. So, as we are less than a year old that is why we could not make this move a year ago. Else we would have of course! This is a once in a lifetime event, you want to make sure you choose a nice date for something like that!

— StoicMOB, Management Aephia Industries

To date, close to 100k users have registered an account with Star Atlas, who are currently eagerly participating in SCORE, and earning ATLAS every second of every day! Automata is currently busy working on the next two modules, including the “Showroom” module, which will be the first time people will be able to see their ships in the full splendor of Unreal Engine 5!

The next step, gameplay-wise, will be the launch of SCREAM — an acronym for SCORE MORE CREAM — which will allow users to send their ships on missions they choose, in a beautiful 3D browser environment, thanks to the move to Web GL.

Below are some of the quotes gathered from ATMTA, Inc. employees:

They were the very first guild created for Star Atlas, weeks before others saw the potential. It makes sense to take this next step with the Interstellar Alliance.*

Michael Wagner, Co-founder & CEO ATMTA, Inc.

When they bought 3 million in assets via our OTC channel, I knew The Club would come back for more.*

Getting to know Aephia Industries

This is so cool! I’ve seen these guys grow over time, and when Ashes started doing Twitter spaces and I got to hang out more often with the Moon Man, it became clear something was brewing (besides Atlas). But this? Nah, this I did not see coming. I mean, I knew they already had their IDO, but I had no idea Final Frontier was that flush with cash!*

Santi, Community Lead ATMTA, Inc.

NOOT, noot!*

ZeSKK, Community Pinguin ATMTA, Inc.

Asked about potential future investments by Aephia Industries, Sensei Yamura (Management Aephia Industries) briefly hesitated before responding with “Meta… They got it all wrong over there. But we feel confident we can right the ship.”

  • As we wanted to publish this great news as fast as possible, we did not wait to get actual statements from ATMTA, Inc. team members. All their quotes are placeholders created by us, containing tidbits that we would — more or less — expect them to state in reaction to this wonderful news.

Thank you for checking out our contribution to April Fool’s Day 2022! 🙏
