All Your Maps in One Place
New GeoTiff Upload lets you import maps from partners like SLANTRANGE to our user-friendly, collaborative platform
By Anya Lamb, Marketing Manager @DroneDeploy
DroneDeploy has become the preferred central place to view, analyze and share your map data, but there’s just one problem — you have existing maps made using other tools that aren’t on the platform! Enter our new GeoTiff Upload tool. Now customers can easily upload 2D maps as GeoTiffs to their account and leverage most of the same measurement, collaboration and sharing features as if the map had been originally processed using DroneDeploy.
How it works
Uploading an existing map is even easier than uploading imagery for map processing — just click the “upload” button and select the map (in GeoTiff format, limit 1 GB) that you would like to import.
Once the map has finished uploading, you’ll be able to view, analyze, share and export the map just as you would with any other map in DroneDeploy.
Note: Since the map import currently only supports GeoTiff, which is a 2-dimensional file format, features in DroneDeploy that require elevation data (such as 3D model, the elevation data layer and volume measurement) will not be available on imported GeoTiffs. SLANTRANGE & DroneDeploy — A Unique Solution for Agriculture
An exciting element of this new upload capability is that it enables a partnership with SLANTRANGE, a drone-based remote sensing and analytics company that has made waves in the agriculture community with their calibrated multispectral sensors and rapid off-line image processing.
“The integration of SLANTRANGE data with DroneDeploy offers our customers a unique combination of capabilities that will allow agricultural drone operators to be more effective in providing long-term value to growers and agronomists across the globe,” said Michael Ritter, CEO of SLANTRANGE.
Now growers, agronomists and service providers can capture calibrated multispectral imagery and process it offline within minutes after a flight using SLANTRANGE software, and then upload a completed map to DroneDeploy for additional measurement, collaboration and sharing.
