DroneDeploy Announces Support for the DJI Mavic
Now you can automate mapping flights with the DJI Mavic

You’ve been waiting for it — and now it’s here. (No, not your Mavic drone, for those of you still waiting for your delivery.) But once you have the drone in your hands, you’ll be able to start mapping immediately. We’re excited to announce that our iOS and Android apps fully support the new Mavic drone.
The Mavic is being marketed as a consumer drone, but don’t think that just because it’s small it isn’t mighty. Offering comparable features and power compared to the Phantom 4 at a fraction of the size, we think it will quickly become the drone of choice for a wide range of use cases.
Know Before You Fly
To start mapping, just make sure you’re on the latest version of DJI’s firmware and on the latest version of the DroneDeploy app. Keep in mind that the Mavic is still a relatively new product and some small issues are still being resolved, including the following:
- Mavic does not automatically land when a flight is finished, but hovers a few feet off the ground. To land, just take manual control.
- On Android, the battery reading is incorrect.
- Some users have reported camera exposure issues.
If you encounter any other issues, please let us know in our active user forum so that we can work with DJI to address them as soon as possible.

Yesterday DJI announced two exciting new drones, the Phantom 4 Pro and the Inspire 2. We’ll be working closely with DJI to support these new drones as soon as possible. Stay tuned!
