Aeriosense takes Georgia Transmission’s Drone Program to a New Level
Aeriosense is in Atlanta Georgia this week and is excited to be working with Georgia Transmission on deploying its inspection automation software. Aeriosense has been conducting training of GATrans personnel as they kick off their transmission line inspection project with the help of Aeriosense flight plans and inspection automation software. The purpose of the project is to enhance safety, reduce costs and provide quantitative repeatable inspection data for transmission line asset management.
Aeriosense specializes in automated drone inspections with the use of scripted flight plans. Manually piloting drones is slow and inefficient, the use of scripted flight plan can minimize those problems and eliminate the need for the drone operator to be an expert pilot. Using the program, scripted flight plans are pre-designed navigation routes that allow the drone to inspect specific structures with respect to the space it is inspecting.
