From Botox to facelifts to breast augmentation, there are hundreds of anti-aging options available to keep us looking younger. Women under constant stress have their own anti-aging needs, especially moms. They rarely get enough to eat, never get enough rest and, though this isn’t scientifically proven, often suffer from a lack of well deserved compliments. All of this leads to a quicker than normal loss of collagen, especially in the cheeks and around the eyes.

Microneedling grows collagen.

According to a 2008 study, skin treated with four microneedling sessions spaced one month apart produced up to a 400% increase in collagen and elastin six months after completing treatment.

A loss of collagen may be the most important factor in determining visible signs of aging especially in the face. Some of that loss is impacted by diet and exercise, some of it by genetics, but microneedling doesn’t care about any of that stuff. Moms need Microneedling because it’s there to stimulate collagen growth regardless of other factors. If only all spouses were like Microneedling.

Microneedling helps Acne.

In a 2009 study on the effects of microneedling, nearly 100 percent of acne-scarred participants reported a marked improvement in the visibility of their acne scars.

Even the International School of Dermatology confirmed that microneedling is a new way to achieve “skin rejuvenation, tightening, and scar remodeling,” and that it offers a “simple and effective treatment for photo aged skin” with minimal side effects and downtime.

Microneedling reduces skin redness.

A 2015 study showed microneedling to be a promising treatment for blotchy, brownish facial coloring the happens from hyperpigmentation. That’s the same kind of extra coloring that happens with sun damaged skin.

After just a few sessions in 2017, Jennifer Aniston couldn’t stop raving about microneedling to the L.A. Times at fashion week. Skin changes during pregnancy can make moms more prone to skin pigmentation issues later in life. Children are our greatest joy.

What is Microneedling? Can I buy all of it?

Microneedling is a minimally-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment designed to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as scars on the face and body. The treatment uses tiny needles or micro-needles on a medical-grade pen that’s moved over the skin to create tiny, evenly-spaced puncture wounds on the skin.

Most anyone can have the procedure performed as long as they do not have any active infections, lesions, or any known wound healing problems. Medical micro-needling is safe on all skin shades and can even be performed on fragile areas like the neck, and the back of the hands.

You can’t get it done until after that pregnancy glow is gone! Micro-needling is not suitable for moms who are pregnant or are still breast feeding or are prone to keloid scars. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you found this a little informative and that you have a fantastic Mother’s Day this year, and every one to come.
