Having lived most of my adult life in countries and regions other than the one in which I was born, I cheerfully accept that there exists an 'idiot tax', the cost of not knowing what the locals all know. My most recent tax payment: A ticket for not knowing that cars in France must be inspected on their third birthday. Ah well. Now I know... 450 euros later. C'est la vie.
