“Swahili Esports Champions 2023”: A Celebration of Female Talent and Entrepreneurship in African Esports
The Swahili Esports Championship was a groundbreaking event that aimed to unleash the talent of African esports players and connect the African continent to the global esports ecosystem.
The event featured 8 exceptional female TEKKEN 7 players from countries including Benin, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Senegal, South Africa, Uganda, and Zambia.
SEC was made possible through the support of Institut Francais and Alliance Francaise and organized by SAGES (Services for Africa Gaming & Esports).
The Total Prize Pool for the competition was $2,500.
1st Place: $1,000, 2nd Place: $500, 3rd Place: $300, 4th Place: $200, 5th Place: $150, 6th Place: $150, 7th Place: $100 & 8th Place: $100
Tsiaro Manuela from Madagascar emerged as the first ever Female Swahili Esports Championships in Africa.
Africa Esports Championship was the Production Partner and Sponsor for the inaugural Swahili Esports Championship. It was a pleasure awarding the other winners and participants their awards in this auspicious fete.
Alongside the championships, there were insightful discussions and professional meetings organised focused on the burgeoning esports sector in Africa.
