Welcome to AfricaRizing

AfricaRizing is a new, digital media startup from the BBG connecting the next generation of global influencers from across the African continent and around the world to engage in, ‘a smarter conversation’.

Our goal is to develop a global community that promotes new voices, amplifies new ideas, and brings young changemakers together to design innovative solutions to today’s challenges.

Right now our team is working in cities like, Accra, Dakar, Washington, D.C., London, Abidjan, NYC, and Lagos to find stories that represent the diversity of the African diaspora. We want to connect you with our team of journalists, designers and developers, and to each other. Together we can create a collaborative, iterative approach to telling stories that reflect our shared values, our culture, and our ambitions as generation next.

You can visit us on the web at AfricaRizing or follow us here on Medium for a collection of some of our favorite stories. We’re also wherever you are, on Twitter, Facebook, and in your inbox by subscribing to our daily newsletter, Compass.

This is our opportunity to experiment with what it means to be a new kind of digital media organization. One committed to building connections across communities, bringing context to critical conversations, and using practical innovation to find solutions to our most complex challenges - we hope you’ll join us…
